An international consortium of botanists and biologists participating globally to scientifically name all cannabis plants and strains.
Although the Cannabis plant's scientific name is "Cannabis sativa", this is the high level genus which represents the species overall. But what about those lower level classifications such as Grand Daddy Purple, Girl Scout Cookies, etc.? Should they have their own scientific names? Names that can be used when disclosing to church members, for example, the treatment used to alleviate arthritis pain, or nausea caused by side effects of pharmaceutical drugs?
